Artist statement:
“Although I taught developmentally disabled teenagers for many years, I always did my creativework as well.  My work consists of knitting, making jewelry, embroidery, felting, quilting and embellishing garments.  Some skills were taught to me, but mostly I am self taught.  Many of my pieces have sold privtely at some shows and in shops…all in  the ny area, where I lived for many years.  Some of my large embroideries were in museum shows.  Once I retired from teaching, I devoted myself full time to my work.  I work from an impulse of joy and wonder..the creations are one of a kind and I am constantly inspired to produce work which bestows magic and mystery upon the receiver. I am 82  years old and these talismans  are made with great love and there is no end to this fountain of discovery.
